Even after many years, the Waran is still our best-selling short pimple-out rubber by far. Why is this? Probably because it is very fast, effective, easy to play with, durable and reasonably priced.
The Waran's top sheet is hard. In addition, the conical pimples are very short. The tops of the pimples are ribbed. Overall, the top sheet is very fast.
The sponge is soft, but slightly harder than the sponge of the SpinLord Degu, and provides a very good built-in speed-gluing effect.
We recommend the Waran for a direct offensive game at the table. It enables players to smash almost every ball directly with unbelievable power. There is no better rubber available for this style of play!
It is also very easy to counter your opponents' attacks with the Waran. Precise block balls can be placed, and both passive and aggressive push blocks are possible.
Additionally, the Waran is excellent for chopping. Although it does not generate much spin itself, undercut balls have an extremely low and dangerous trajectory.
You can play topspin with the Waran, but the Degu is better for this stroke.
The Waran is also very insensitive to incoming spin, making it much easier to prepare your own attack than with other rubbers.
However, the Waran does not have a significant disruptive effect that causes opponents to make easy mistakes. Therefore, this rubber is ideal for players who prefer to win with offensive power rather than relying on their opponent making mistakes.
When the going gets tough in a close game, no other fast, short pimple-out rubber can match the reliability of the Waran. Many other pimples have a weak spot that, if exploited by the opponent, could cause you to lose the game. The Waran will help you win more games because it has no weak spots and works with all kinds of balls against all kinds of opponents. No matter what playing style your opponent has, the Waran makes it easy to take the initiative, put continuous pressure on your opponent and never lose control. You can also win with brute force: when you smash hard, your opponent won't stand a chance of returning the ball. The Waran also enables players to adapt quickly to every situation in the game.
The Waran is suitable for players of almost all levels. However, only top players will most likely prefer our Waran II due to its harder sponge.
Incidentally, this rubber is very light!

The values given for speed, spin, control and disruption are based on our own tests. They may therefore differ from the manufacturer's specifications.
Some values may vary, for example the weight of table tennis blades.
OX rubbers should be attached to the blade using an adhesive sheet. This is not included if you purchase a SpinLord rubber.
For rubbers with sponge, use a suitable VOC-free glue to attach them to the blade. Do not use glue sticks, adhesives containing solvents or any adhesive not specifically designed for table tennis rubbers.
Rubbers should only be attached to sealed blades.
Please note that we cannot guarantee that the rubber can be reattached multiple times. Depending on the type of sponge used, it may be damaged when removed from the blade, even with professional assembly.
Please also note that rubbers may warp to a greater or lesser extent depending on the type. Consequently, the amount of rubber adhesive required to assemble the racket varies from rubber to rubber.
