The SpinLord Wyvern is based on the “Pro version” of the SpinLord Degu, which was produced in small series years ago and is no longer available. After we were able to improve this “Pro version” a little, it has since been available as the new “Wyvern” rubber for all players. It can therefore be played successfully at the highest level and meets the demands of absolute top players.
However, the rubber is more expensive than our other short pips, mainly due to the high manufacturing costs of the sponge.
The pips have the same shape as the SpinLord Waran. They are conical in shape and have ribbed pip heads.
The rubber compound of the top-sheet is extremely grippy (significantly more grippy than the Waran), medium-hard (i.e., slightly softer than the Waran, but not nearly as soft) and quite slow (significantly slower than the Waran).
The sponge is the blue sponge from the first version of the SpinLord Ozelot (hardness of the Wyvern approx. 43–45 degrees, i.e. medium-hard with a tendency towards hard). This sponge is extremely fast, highly elastic and offers a very good built-in speed effect.
Due to the chosen combination of slow top rubber and fast sponge, the speed of offensive strokes is mainly generated by the sponge. As a result, the differences in speed between the individual sponge thicknesses are slightly greater than with other rubbers. With a thickness of 1.5 mm, the Wyvern is also a defensively usable All+ rubber that is slightly slower than the SpinLord Waran. The 1.8 mm thickness is ideal for controlled offense, and at 2.0 mm, the Wyvern becomes quite fast and is then also slightly faster than the Waran with the same sponge thickness. However, the Wyvern does not reach the speed of the Waran II under any circumstances.
The Wyvern is designed for pimple players who value maximum variability and spin for a short pimple. The rubber is also dangerous because the combination of a slow top rubber and a very fast sponge makes the ball flight curve more unpredictable. Above all, however, the Wyvern can take more speed out of the game than the Waran when playing passive block balls.
It is quite easy to control and impresses with its predictable behavior in all playing situations.
The weight of this rubber is slightly higher for a short pimple, but still just below that of the Waran II.
The quality is in line with SpinLord's usual high standards, but the price is not higher than that of other rubbers.

The values given for speed, spin, control and disruption are based on our own tests. They may therefore differ from the manufacturer's specifications.
Some values may vary, for example the weight of table tennis blades.
OX rubbers should be attached to the blade using an adhesive sheet. This is not included if you purchase a SpinLord rubber.
For rubbers with sponge, use a suitable VOC-free glue to attach them to the blade. Do not use glue sticks, adhesives containing solvents or any adhesive not specifically designed for table tennis rubbers.
Rubbers should only be attached to sealed blades.
Please note that we cannot guarantee that the rubber can be reattached multiple times. Depending on the type of sponge used, it may be damaged when removed from the blade, even with professional assembly.
Please also note that rubbers may warp to a greater or lesser extent depending on the type. Consequently, the amount of rubber adhesive required to assemble the racket varies from rubber to rubber.
