The Greif Premium is a more durable and slightly softer version of the Greif. Due to its slightly softer design, the Greif Premium is also slightly slower, more elastic and offers better grip.
The differences in play between the Greif Premium and the Greif are kept to a minimum, as we did not want to create a new pimple. Based on customer feedback regarding the Greif, our top priority was to improve durability – and we have succeeded in doing so.
The Greif Premium is also designed for a more attacking style of play, although its durability is now significantly higher. Even though the Greif Premium is not quite as indestructible as the Sternenfall Pro, most players should no longer experience pimple breakage. Even with an extreme playing style, durability should remain at a good level.
The texture:
The Greif Premium is still harder than the Sternenfall Pro, but slightly softer than the Greif, which means that the pimples can bend a little more easily. This reduces wear and tear during offensive play.
The pimple tops are still not ribbed and slightly sticky, similar to the “Dornenglanz”, but the stickiness is slightly less. Nevertheless, the Greif Premium has significantly more grip than the Sternenfall Pro.
The pimples are the same size as on the Sternenfall Pro and the distance between the pimples is also the same. This means that the pimple geometry remains unchanged compared to the Greif, of course.
Playing characteristics:
Especially in relation to the still slightly higher speed, the Greif can be played easily and with control.
One of its strengths is certainly blocking at the table. Simply holding the racket out – even when serving – works better with this rubber than with other pimples. In addition, the grippy pimple tops dampen passive shots particularly well.
Since it is insensitive to incoming spin, even the opponent's undercut balls can be pushed effortlessly into the corners or answered offensively with a topspin movement (slight pull) in order to bring your own forehand into play with a faster topspin. Basically, the Greif is very strong on offensive shots and is therefore the right rubber for players who want to put pressure on their opponent with the pimples and prepare their own attacking shots.
Another great strength of the Greif is playing against “empty” balls from the opponent and roll serves, which often cause despair for pimple players. These can also be attacked easily and effectively, just like with a short pimple.
The disruptive effect is considerable. However, the Greif does not have a “bouncy effect” and the pimples do not bend so quickly. The disruptive effect here results more from the possibility of playing with or without spin, as well as from the tempo variations that are easier to achieve with the Greif than with other long pimples.
The chop block is slightly easier with the “Greif Premium” than with even faster pimples like the Feuerstich, but it is still not a strength of this rubber.
The same applies to the undercut defense from mid-distance, which is possible as a last resort. First and foremost, however, the Greif is ideal for players with a strong forehand who want to prevent their opponent from playing topspin. The Greif is not recommended for generally passive defensive players. In principle, however, the Greif can be played with or without wrist action.
Conclusion:
Overall, the Greif Premium can be described as a mixture of Sternenfall Pro, Dornenglanz, and Anti Sandwind.

The values given for speed, spin, control and disruption are based on our own tests. They may therefore differ from the manufacturer's specifications.
Some values may vary, for example the weight of table tennis blades.
OX rubbers should be attached to the blade using an adhesive sheet. This is not included if you purchase a SpinLord rubber.
For rubbers with sponge, use a suitable VOC-free glue to attach them to the blade. Do not use glue sticks, adhesives containing solvents or any adhesive not specifically designed for table tennis rubbers.
Rubbers should only be attached to sealed blades.
Please note that we cannot guarantee that the rubber can be reattached multiple times. Depending on the type of sponge used, it may be damaged when removed from the blade, even with professional assembly.
Please also note that rubbers may warp to a greater or lesser extent depending on the type. Consequently, the amount of rubber adhesive required to assemble the racket varies from rubber to rubber.
