The Carbon Strike has a 6 mm thick balsa core veneer. The outer veneers are made of hard ash. Two carbon inserts made from the thinnest and softest type of carbon fibre complete this blade.
The Carbon Strike’s pace falls within the offensive all-round range. Thanks to a special gluing process, this blade is unusually elastic. While even 'standard' balsa blades provide cushioning in passive play and acceleration in offensive play, these characteristics are exceptionally pronounced in the Carbon Strike.
Consequently, blocked shots (particularly with short and long pimples) can be placed very close to and flat behind the net. In the offensive game, the blade plays as if it had a built-in quick-glue effect.
These characteristics enable players to achieve a higher tempo than before. This blade also renders so-called 'combination blades' unnecessary.
It is well known that ash increases a blade’s spin potential. Combined with its damping properties, this blade can therefore generate an enormous disruptive effect. Overall, this blade is particularly well-suited to players using pimples or anti-spin rubber.
Please note that ash veneers always have clearly visible grain lines.
The handles of the Carbon Strike 2022 are made from solid hinoki.
The playing surface measures approximately 155 x 152 mm.
Note on blades with balsa:
The variations in playing characteristics and weight are significantly greater with balsa blades than without. Even the best quality and selection cannot change this.
We recognise that balsa blades are nevertheless very popular, but professionals would never use one. Incidentally, we also prefer blades without balsa.

The playing surfaces (outer veneers) of this table tennis blade must be sealed to prevent damage to the blade.
If they are not sealed, the rubber adhesive can seep into the top veneer, causing it to flake off.
Furthermore, the top veneer may fray when the rubber is removed.
