Our Anti SpinLord Gigant has become very popular in the past and continues to delight many table tennis players today. However, we have also noticed that some players find it too slow. In fact, it is one of the slowest rubbers in the world and not everyone is able to play effectively at this speed.
That's why we are offering another version of the Gigant: this time with a slow “normal” sponge instead of a dampening foam sponge. To achieve this, we have combined the unchanged top rubber of the Gigant with the sponge of the SpinLord Marder. This new version of the rubber, the Gigant II, is still very slow, but nevertheless much faster than the Gigant.
The ball contact is medium-hard and thus slightly harder than with the Gigant.
Compared to the faster SpinLord Sandwind, the top rubber of the Gigant II is significantly harder and less elastic. The Gigant II is therefore a “real” anti-rubber with rather low residual grip and a very pronounced anti-effect.
Nevertheless, it can generate an astonishing amount of spin. This is due, on the one hand, to the use of Marder sponge and, on the other hand, to the fact that the top rubber is not ground like many grippy anti-spins. The lower grip compared to “normal” pimpled rubbers and the anti-spin effect are achieved here solely by the special rubber compound. However, topspins are much more difficult to play with the Gigant II than with the Sandwind or a “normal” pimpled rubber due to its low elasticity.
When comparing the two versions of the Gigant, it is noticeable that the Gigant II not only generates slightly more spin, but is also more versatile to play with and therefore more dangerous than the Gigant. However, with the Gigant II it is not quite as easy as with the Gigant to block your opponent's fast topspins extremely short. It is also less suitable as an alternative to a Glanti or a long pimpled rubber.
The Gigant II is suitable for both blocking balls at the table and for classic backspin defense; more offensive disruptive shots are also possible.
The Gigant II is an interesting alternative, especially for the backhand side, for players who have previously played with very slow pimple-in rubbers. However, it cannot replace a long pimple or a “Glanti” in terms of disruptive effect. With the Gigant II, you win games through ball placement, a low error rate, and the often unexpectedly flat and short ball trajectory.
We think that this rubber is particularly suitable for players in lower and middle leagues. It compensates for some imprecise stroke techniques.
The Gigant II is not quite as extremely light as the Gigant, but it is still a very light rubber.

The values given for speed, spin, control and disruption are based on our own tests. They may therefore differ from the manufacturer's specifications.
Some values may vary, for example the weight of table tennis blades.
OX rubbers should be attached to the blade using an adhesive sheet. This is not included if you purchase a SpinLord rubber.
For rubbers with sponge, use a suitable VOC-free glue to attach them to the blade. Do not use glue sticks, adhesives containing solvents or any adhesive not specifically designed for table tennis rubbers.
Rubbers should only be attached to sealed blades.
Please note that we cannot guarantee that the rubber can be reattached multiple times. Depending on the type of sponge used, it may be damaged when removed from the blade, even with professional assembly.
Please also note that rubbers may warp to a greater or lesser extent depending on the type. Consequently, the amount of rubber adhesive required to assemble the racket varies from rubber to rubber.
