The Classic Carbon Premium blade is essentially the same one that was used in some complete rackets from SpinLord.
However, the blade sold separately is of an even higher quality, being of the highest premium grade. The veneers are selected more rigorously, and the workmanship is of the highest possible standard.
The price remains reasonable, especially when compared to high-quality carbon blades from other manufacturers, which often cost many times as much.
The outer and intermediate veneers are made of limba. The Kiri core veneer is encased in two layers of thin carbon fleece made of synthetic fibres.
The handles are made of solid hinoki. This lightweight wood reduces the total weight to an extremely manageable 86 g.
This veneer combination is a classic that has stood the test of time. We firmly believe that this combination is superior to those that use significantly more expensive synthetic fibres and/or exotic wood veneers. While you could find something more expensive and perhaps more visually elegant, it's difficult to find one that plays better.
Another lovely feature is the great sound produced by the wood when it makes contact with the ball, which isn't too hard.
The Classic Carbon isn’t completely stiff either, making it well-suited to passive shots. However, fundamentally, it is an offensive blade designed for the modern European topspin style of play. This blade isn’t extremely fast, though; its speed lies somewhere between OFF and OFF+.
Overall, the Classic Carbon is easy to play with, offers excellent control for its speed and can be used with almost any rubber.
It can, of course, be combined very well with short pimples, but it might be a little too fast for long pimples or anti-spin rubbers (it’s slightly faster than the Ultra Carbon).
The handles are on the thicker side.
The weight distribution is slightly head-heavy, though by no means as pronounced as with offensive blades from Chinese brands, given the chosen playing surface size of 155 x 152 mm.
The Classic Carbon also fills a gap in our range. We already had some very good, fast carbon blades without balsa from Lion in our range, such as the Mantis Carbon OFF and the Carbozone OFF. However, Lion's blades have slightly slimmer handles and are not as well suited to larger hands. Furthermore, Lion places great emphasis on elaborate blade designs, which makes the blades slightly more expensive.

The values given for speed, spin, control and disruption are based on our own tests. They may therefore differ from the manufacturer's specifications.
Some values may vary, for example the weight of table tennis blades.
The playing surfaces (outer veneers) of this table tennis blade must be sealed to prevent damage to the blade.
If they are not sealed, the rubber adhesive can seep into the top veneer, causing it to flake off.
Furthermore, the top veneer may fray when the rubber is removed.
