The Gepard is a fast, easy-to-play semi-long rubber with playing characteristics more akin to a short pimple-out rubber.
This is because the pimples are extremely hard and inflexible, so they do not bend even during powerful offensive shots. The pimple tops are ribbed. Overall, the 'Gepard' offers slightly less grip than SpinLord's other pimple-out rubbers, but it is by no means frictionless.
The ‘Gepard’ rubber compound is a hybrid of those used in SpinLord’s ‘Waran’ and ‘Sandwind’ rubbers.
The sponge in the Gepard is the same medium-hard sponge used in SpinLord's Keiler and Gipfelsturm rubbers. This provides a slight built-in quick-sticking effect.
The ‘Gepard’ has three major strengths:
Despite the high speed, shots can be played and placed with extreme precision. This can be done more effectively with the ‘Gepard’ than with most other short-pimpled rubbers.
Secondly, the ‘Gepard’ is highly resistant to incoming spin whilst also being able to generate some spin itself (though not much).
Thirdly, the ‘Gepard’ can be used by players of all levels, from top players to those in lower divisions with no experience of pimpled rubbers.
The 'Gepard' has a more disruptive effect than the 'Waran'. It also troubles opponents because it can be used like a grippy anti-spin rubber for backspin play and blocking. This means that balls can be played with or without spin, while maintaining a very flat flight path.
Much like the SpinLord Waran, the Gepard can also be used aggressively in attack. It is also extremely effective for hard counter-attacks and shots. Like the Waran but unlike the Mantikor, the Gepard offers extremely high ball acceleration during active play. Therefore, with the Gepard, you do not win by passively holding the bat, but by constantly and actively varying pace, spin, and placement.
However, the Gepard does have its weaknesses: topspins are difficult to execute and not very effective. Although the Gepard is available in Ox, it is best played with a sponge. It is only when combined with a suitable sponge that the rubber can fully demonstrate its special playing characteristics.
Anyone who likes the Waran might love the Gepard. Both rubbers are similarly fast on ball contact and offer similar overall playability. However, the Gepard has a larger 'sweet spot' and thus offers even better control. Compared to the Mantikor, the Gepard is slightly more dangerous, but less versatile (topspins are also possible with the Mantikor). The Mantikor is slightly more resistant to the opponent's spin, particularly when returning serves. Both rubbers allow for precise ball placement, although the Mantikor provides more linear ball acceleration. This results in even greater control, though the ball’s flight path is slightly more predictable for the opponent. The ball contact with the Gepard is softer than with the Mantikor.
We believe that the Gepard can be used with any All-Off+ blade.
However, when used with defensive blades, its attacking strengths might not be fully utilised.
The Gepard’s pimples are robust. However, they are sensitive to overstretching. Therefore, it is important to take care not to overstretch the rubber during fitting.
The Gepard is also a lightweight rubber.

The values given for speed, spin, control and disruption are based on our own tests. They may therefore differ from the manufacturer's specifications.
Some values may vary, for example the weight of table tennis blades.
OX rubbers should be attached to the blade using an adhesive sheet. This is not included if you purchase a SpinLord rubber.
For rubbers with sponge, use a suitable VOC-free glue to attach them to the blade. Do not use glue sticks, adhesives containing solvents or any adhesive not specifically designed for table tennis rubbers.
Rubbers should only be attached to sealed blades.
Please note that we cannot guarantee that the rubber can be reattached multiple times. Depending on the type of sponge used, it may be damaged when removed from the blade, even with professional assembly.
Please also note that rubbers may warp to a greater or lesser extent depending on the type. Consequently, the amount of rubber adhesive required to assemble the racket varies from rubber to rubber.
