Depending on your own interpretation, the SpinLord Keiler is a short or medium-length pimple rubber. The pimples are 1.2 mm long. This is within the range of what is usual for medium-length pimples.
However, due to the strongly conical shape of the rather thin pimples and the resulting playing characteristics, the Keiler is more comparable to short pimples. The special shape of the ribbed and robust pimples significantly increases the speed of the rubber compared to rubbers with straight or shorter pimples. In addition, the pimples are very soft and elastic.
The SpinLord Keiler combines this top rubber with a medium-hard sponge (hardness approx. 43°), whereby both the top rubber and the sponge have a built-in speed glue effect.
The speed of the Keiler is almost as high as that of the Waran. However, the ball contact is significantly softer and the catapult effect in offensive play is higher. In passive play, the rubber dampens significantly, making short block balls possible without any problems.
However, the main feature of the Keiler is its disruptive effect. This is on par with the most dangerous medium-length pimples from other manufacturers – most players will not be able to play several topspins in a row against the Keiler.
The Keiler's control values are not quite as high as those of the short pimples Degu and Waran, but they are still very good.
However, the Keiler can no longer be played almost like an inner pimple rubber, as is the case with the Degu.
The Keiler's strengths therefore lie in block and counter balls. Topspins are also still possible with slight compromises, but other pimples are somewhat better suited for this. The same applies to undercut balls and hard finishing shots.
Overall, there is nothing in which the Keiler's performance is not at least very solid. However, it is almost unbeatable in the category of “block and counter shots with disruptive effect.”
Its main strength is its combination of high speed and high disruptive effect with good control.
Above all, however, the Keiler plays very differently from previous rubbers. This rubber is a real innovation for all players looking for the best characteristics of short and medium-length pimples.
Unlike many other medium-length pimples, the Keiler can also be played at a very high level. Several gold medals have been won at the Paralympic Games with the Keiler!

The values given for speed, spin, control and disruption are based on our own tests. They may therefore differ from the manufacturer's specifications.
Some values may vary, for example the weight of table tennis blades.
OX rubbers should be attached to the blade using an adhesive sheet. This is not included if you purchase a SpinLord rubber.
For rubbers with sponge, use a suitable VOC-free glue to attach them to the blade. Do not use glue sticks, adhesives containing solvents or any adhesive not specifically designed for table tennis rubbers.
Rubbers should only be attached to sealed blades.
Please note that we cannot guarantee that the rubber can be reattached multiple times. Depending on the type of sponge used, it may be damaged when removed from the blade, even with professional assembly.
Please also note that rubbers may warp to a greater or lesser extent depending on the type. Consequently, the amount of rubber adhesive required to assemble the racket varies from rubber to rubber.
