While the top sheets of the SpinLord Marder and the SpinLord Marder II are identical, the sponges are very different. As the top sheets are the same, the lettering on the rubbers is also the same.
Furthermore, both the Marder and the Marder II have white sponges.
Please don't worry — we can still tell them apart easily, so nothing will get mixed up.The top sheet is very thin and has long, inward-facing pimples. Despite the resulting highly elastic design, the top sheet is also slightly sticky. While classic German and Japanese rubbers generate spin primarily through elasticity and Chinese rubbers through stickiness, Marder rubbers can do both. The spin values are therefore at the upper limit of what is possible without compromising elasticity or control, unlike extremely sticky rubbers.
Furthermore, the Marder II is durable, superbly crafted and relatively light.

Its sponge is fast, offering a strong catapult effect (but not a speed-glue effect), with a medium-soft hardness of approx. 40–43 degrees.
It is a particularly high-quality Japanese sponge!

However, the top sheet is 'Made in China', where the components are bonded together.

The Marder II's pace ranges from offensive all-round to controlled offensive.

At 1.5 mm, the Marder II is ideal for an aggressive backspin game involving frequent disruptive shots. At 1.8 mm, it is recommended for a controlled topspin game involving frequent backspin shots and blocks. The 2.0 mm and 2.1 mm thicknesses are best suited to controlled offensive play involving spin-heavy topspins, even from mid-distance.

The Marder II is ideal for players who find that Chinese-brand rubbers lack catapult and elasticity, and who miss the spin potential of Chinese rubbers when using Japanese and German ones. The Marder II is a true all-rounder that can be combined with all types of blade.

The values given for speed, spin, control and disruption are based on our own tests. They may therefore differ from the manufacturer's specifications.

Some values may vary, for example the weight of table tennis blades.

OX rubbers should be attached to the blade using an adhesive sheet. This is not included if you purchase a SpinLord rubber.

For rubbers with sponge, use a suitable VOC-free glue to attach them to the blade. Do not use glue sticks, adhesives containing solvents or any adhesive not specifically designed for table tennis rubbers.

Rubbers should only be attached to sealed blades.

Please note that we cannot guarantee that the rubber can be reattached multiple times. Depending on the type of sponge used, it may be damaged when removed from the blade, even with professional assembly.

Please also note that rubbers may warp to a greater or lesser extent depending on the type. Consequently, the amount of rubber adhesive required to assemble the racket varies from rubber to rubber.
Please refer to the instructions for using the rubber adhesive.
