The SpinLord Marder IV combines the unchanged topsheet of the Marder rubbers – slightly sticky and highly elastic – with a medium-hard and extremely fast sponge with a hardness rating of approx. 44 to 46. This sponge is the same as the one used in the Irbis II and was completely redesigned in 2016. It not only offers a very strong built-in fresh glue effect without “factory tuning,” but also significantly more speed than the sponges of all other Marder rubbers. The rather slow topsheet gives this rubber the highest spin and control values as usual, while the fast sponge provides the necessary power for a dynamic offensive game.

This rubbers is therefore a lethal weapon for all players with a European playing style who are looking for maximum spin and sufficient speed for a dynamic offensive game.

However, it may still be too slow for very offensive players using it as a forehand rubber. As a backhand rubber, however, it is a very good option even for such players.

Even with thick sponge thicknesses, the Marder IV still offers sufficient control for vicious undercut balls and allows the player to vary the speed of their attacks between controlled offensive and very powerful topspins.

However, the Marder IV is a rather heavy rubber: the weight of the uncut rubber is approx. 72 g in MAX with a size of approx. 17 x 17 cm.

The values given for speed, spin, control and disruption are based on our own tests. They may therefore differ from the manufacturer's specifications.

Some values may vary, for example the weight of table tennis blades.

OX rubbers should be attached to the blade using an adhesive sheet. This is not included if you purchase a SpinLord rubber.

For rubbers with sponge, use a suitable VOC-free glue to attach them to the blade. Do not use glue sticks, adhesives containing solvents or any adhesive not specifically designed for table tennis rubbers.

Rubbers should only be attached to sealed blades.

Please note that we cannot guarantee that the rubber can be reattached multiple times. Depending on the type of sponge used, it may be damaged when removed from the blade, even with professional assembly.

Please also note that rubbers may warp to a greater or lesser extent depending on the type. Consequently, the amount of rubber adhesive required to assemble the racket varies from rubber to rubber.
Please refer to the instructions for using the rubber adhesive.
