The top sheets of the SpinLord Marder and the SpinLord Marder II are identical, but the sponges differ significantly. Since the top sheets are identical, the lettering on the rubbers is also the same.
Both the Marder and the Marder II have white sponges (but we can still tell them apart easily).
The top sheet is very thin and has long, inward-facing pimples. Despite the resulting highly elastic design, the top sheet is also slightly sticky.
While classic German and Japanese rubbers generate spin primarily through elasticity, and Chinese rubbers through stickiness, Marder rubbers can do both. The spin values are therefore at the very limit of what is possible without compromising elasticity or control, as is usually the case with extremely sticky rubbers.
Furthermore, both versions are durable, superbly crafted and relatively light.
The Marder's sponge is very slow, with low catapult and a medium-soft hardness of approx. 40 degrees, and is less elastic than the Marder II's sponge.
Overall, the SpinLord Marder is a modern defensive rubber with good speed reserves.
It is ideally suited to an aggressive, safety-oriented undercut and blocking game with occasional controlled topspins.
Unlike conventional spin-maximised rubbers, the SpinLord Marder is also resistant to incoming spin. During passive blocking, a great deal of speed is absorbed.
However, the SpinLord Marder was not solely developed for use with defensive blades. It also works well with medium-speed and fast blades when players want to maintain control on one side of the racket despite the blade's characteristics. For instance, the SpinLord Marder allows for a controlled backhand even on fast offensive blades, making it the perfect rubber for players whose strengths differ significantly between their forehand and backhand.

The values given for speed, spin, control and disruption are based on our own tests. They may therefore differ from the manufacturer's specifications.
Some values may vary, for example the weight of table tennis blades.
OX rubbers should be attached to the blade using an adhesive sheet. This is not included if you purchase a SpinLord rubber.
For rubbers with sponge, use a suitable VOC-free glue to attach them to the blade. Do not use glue sticks, adhesives containing solvents or any adhesive not specifically designed for table tennis rubbers.
Rubbers should only be attached to sealed blades.
Please note that we cannot guarantee that the rubber can be reattached multiple times. Depending on the type of sponge used, it may be damaged when removed from the blade, even with professional assembly.
Please also note that rubbers may warp to a greater or lesser extent depending on the type. Consequently, the amount of rubber adhesive required to assemble the racket varies from rubber to rubber.
