The 'Nashorn National Team' is a faster version of the 'Nashorn Pro' and was originally intended to replace the 'old' 'Nashorn' with its pink sponge.
By contrast, the 'Nashorn Pro' is softer and slightly more challenging to play with.
However, due to numerous customer requests, we have decided to continue manufacturing the 'Nashorn' after all. There may therefore be three versions of the 'Nashorn' in future.
The unmodified pimples of the Nashorn are almost cylindrical in shape, but it is only visible under a magnifying glass that they are very slightly conical. They are also quite wide and only slightly higher than the permitted minimum of 1.0 mm. The spacing between the pimples is average. The pimple heads are finely ribbed.
The rubber compound of the Nashorn National Team is identical to that of the Nashorn Pro. It is therefore very grippy and elastic, and rather soft compared to other short-pimpled rubbers such as the Waran, whose pimples are extremely hard and inelastic.
In practice, this means that the Nashorn National Team is one of the few short-pimple rubbers whose pimples produce a distinctly noticeable 'wobble effect' during play. The spin values are also very high for a short-pimpled rubber. The Nashorn can generate such a high degree of spin that stroke techniques similar to those used with pimpled-in rubbers are possible. However, it is relatively insensitive to incoming spin.
The Nashorn National Team at 1.5 mm is as fast as the ORKan at 1.8 mm and the Degu at 2.0 mm. At 2.0 mm, the Nashorn is slightly slower than the Waran with the same sponge thickness. Overall, the speed can be described as controlled and offensive.
The sponge used in the Nashorn National Team is the orange 'high speed' sponge, which is also used by the Mantikor, for example. This makes the sponge significantly faster and softer than that of the Nashorn Pro.
Consequently, the ball contact of the Nashorn National Team is generally rather soft – harder than that of the Degu, but noticeably softer than that of the Mantikor or Waran, and most comparable to that of the Keiler.
The Nashorn National Team may not appeal to all players as its shot power is significantly weaker than that of the Waran. However, flips, counter-attacks and block shots can be executed very easily with the Nashorn National Team and played in a controlled and effective manner. Backspin shots are also very well suited to the Nashorn National Team. Its topspin capabilities are above average.
Overall, the Nashorn is more dangerous than most other short-pimpled rubbers and is often difficult for opponents to read.
With a sponge thickness of 1.5 mm, its blocking strengths are emphasised, while thicker sponge thicknesses allow for more powerful counter-attacks.
For the backhand, the Nashorn National Team is the ideal rubber for a dynamic, attacking game with a disruptive effect.
On the forehand, it is particularly well-suited to players who use 'material' such as long pimples or anti-spin rubbers on their backhand. If your backhand dominates your game, you can utilise the Nashorn's strengths in terms of ball placement and spin variations to surprise your opponent and make the most of your backhand.
The Nashorn National Team is suitable for players of all abilities. However, it is not suitable for players who have never used short pimples before.
This rubber is very lightweight; the 2.0 mm version weighs approx. 48 g uncut.
As the Nashorn National Team is identical to the Nashorn Pro in terms of the sponge, only the sponge thickness for the Nashorn Pro is listed.

The values given for speed, spin, control and disruption are based on our own tests. They may therefore differ from the manufacturer's specifications.
Some values may vary, for example the weight of table tennis blades.
OX rubbers should be attached to the blade using an adhesive sheet. This is not included if you purchase a SpinLord rubber.
For rubbers with sponge, use a suitable VOC-free glue to attach them to the blade. Do not use glue sticks, adhesives containing solvents or any adhesive not specifically designed for table tennis rubbers.
Rubbers should only be attached to sealed blades.
Please note that we cannot guarantee that the rubber can be reattached multiple times. Depending on the type of sponge used, it may be damaged when removed from the blade, even with professional assembly.
Please also note that rubbers may warp to a greater or lesser extent depending on the type. Consequently, the amount of rubber adhesive required to assemble the racket varies from rubber to rubber.
