A classic, very high-quality offensive blade made from five layers of veneer, with no synthetic fibre inserts.

The new 2024 version of the SpinLord RD2 is almost identical to the previous model.

However, the outer veneers are now made of limba, while the intermediate veneers are made of koto. The core veneer remains Ayous.

Therefore, only the outer and intermediate veneers have changed. Nevertheless, the effect is clearly noticeable: the ball contact is now slightly softer and more sensitive. Furthermore, Limba is a more robust outer veneer and does not fray as easily (although the wood still needs to be sealed).

Otherwise, nothing has changed. The weight and speed remain the same, and the handles are, of course, the same too.
The SpinLord RD2 is therefore a top-class offensive blade, offering the best playability possible with a classic veneer combination without a synthetic fibre insert (e.g. carbon).

The ball contact is medium-hard, and the RD2 is surprisingly elastic for such a fast offensive blade.

The playing surface measures approximately 155 x 152 mm. As with the SpinLord RD1, the handles are slightly thicker, with a handle length of approximately 10.2 cm.

The weight distribution is significantly more handle-heavy than that of many other (Chinese) offensive blades without balsa.

The RD2 is ideally suited to a versatile, spin-oriented, European-style offensive play. The level of control is so high that even passive shots are well within reach.

This blade also works well with short and long pimples.

In our opinion, the RD2 is no worse than significantly more expensive blades from other manufacturers, and is actually rather better made. The only drawback is that it has a somewhat simpler appearance, but thanks to its very tasteful design, the RD2 has nothing to be ashamed of in this respect either.

Overall, it is a blade that comes with an almost unreserved recommendation, except that the thicker handles are not suitable for younger players in youth competitions.

The values given for speed, spin, control and disruption are based on our own tests. They may therefore differ from the manufacturer's specifications.

Some values may vary, for example the weight of table tennis blades.

The playing surfaces (outer veneers) of this table tennis blade must be sealed to prevent damage to the blade.
If they are not sealed, the rubber adhesive can seep into the top veneer, causing it to flake off.
Furthermore, the top veneer may fray when the rubber is removed.
